Tapestry Talk – November 1, 2016, Mulvane Art Center We are along the west wall of the Exhibition Hall in spaces 1903 – 1906. Members of KVFG will be demonstrating along with members of our Guild. We’ve invited members of the Kaw Valley Fiber Guild (KVFG) to assist us. Our booth has grown from one space to four spaces. Several of you responded and have agreed to help provide demonstrations and a presence in the booth Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23. The space is given to the Guild at no charge and in exchange for demonstrations.īarbara and Carol have contacted members and asked for volunteers. As many of you know, our booth drew a large number of visitors in 2015. Late last Fall, Topeka Handweavers were offered a booth space by Mother Earth News for the 2016 Fair being held at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka. ![]() Mother Earth News Fair – October 22 & 23, 2016 Spaces not used by our Guild members will be opened to the Manhattan and Lawrence Guilds. The Sewing Workshop is located is across from the Topeka/Shawnee County Law Enforcement Center. Sunday afternoon, October 16, Guild members are invited to participate in a program at Linda Lee’s Sewing Workshop 1:30 – 4:00 pm 301 SW Kansas Avenue. “An Afternoon at Linda Lee’s Sewing Workshop” - October 16, 2016 Many members demonstrated weaving and spinning, and we scheduled a couple of “classes” for beginning weaving, with basis looms made from popsicle sticks/tongue depressors and assorted available yarns. Mother Earth News Fair – October 21 & 22, 2017įor 2017 the Topeka Handweavers were again offered a large booth space by Mother Earth News for the 2017 Fair held at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka. For Sunday the event moved to near Kansas City for a dye day. Local fiber artist Traci Bunkers gave the keynote address at lunch on Saturday.
